Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) is an essential tool for Windows administrators. This tool is designed to help administrators manage and maintain the servers from a remote location. Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) are used by IT administrators to handle Windows Server roles and features. It was introduced in Windows Server 2008 R2.

The tools are sometimes included with different versions of Windows, and occasionally they must be downloaded and installed from the Microsoft website. Before Windows 10 Versions 1709 and 1803, the tools must be downloaded and installed from the Microsoft website.   1. Open the Command Prompt App with Administrative Privileges.
  2. Type the below command and press Enter key.
  3. Get-WindowsCapability -Name RSAT* -Online | Select-Object -Property DisplayName, State
  4. You'll get a list of all RSAT features and their current state whether installed or not present.

Installing Remote Server Administration Tools in Windows 11

  1. Launch the Windows 11 Settings app.
  2. Select Apps from the left pane.
  3. Choose Optional features.
  4. Next to the title Add an optional feature option, and click the View features button.
  5. Type RSAT in the top search box to discover the tools you need.
  6. Check the boxes next to the ones you wish to download and install, then click Next.
  7. Then, check the RSAT features you wish to install and press the Install button.

Uninstalling RSAT Features in Windows 11

  1. Launch the Windows 11 Settings app.
  2. Select Apps from the left pane.
  3. Choose Optional features.
  4. Scroll all the way down to the Installed features section.
  5. Choose the feature you wish to remove.
  6. On the right, click the Uninstall button.
